How to Fry Crispy Chicken in a Convection Oven
If you trying to eat healthier and cutting down on fried foods, and you like fried chicken but worry about the oily frying process, take heart--you can cook crispy and healthy chicken in your oven. You can use a regular or convection oven for baking your next "fried" chicken recipe.
Things You'll Need
- 1-1/2 cups bread crumbs
- 3/4 cup flour
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- Large bowl
- 8 pieces of chicken (breast, leg or thigh)
- 2 large eggs
- Olive oil cooking spray
- Baking sheet
Instructions
-
Preheat your convection oven to 350 degrees.
-
Mix the bread crumbs, flour, paprika, salt and black pepper in a large bowl and set it aside.
-
Wash the chicken pieces thoroughly under running water. Trim any unwanted fat.
-
Beat the eggs in a large bowl. Soak the chicken pieces in the beaten eggs for a minute or two.
-
Remove the chicken from the eggs bowl and place it directly in the bread crumb mixture. Coat the chicken pieces completely with crumb mixture.
-
Place the coated chicken pieces on a baking sheet sprayed with olive oil. Bake in the convection oven for 45 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink at the bone and the bread crumbs are browned.
