How to Make Brown Sugar With Stevia (3 Steps)
Many people use stevia in place of sugar because it does not raise your blood sugar levels as quickly. Some simply use 1/8 tsp. of stevia in place of brown sugar, just as they would for white sugar. This adds the appropriate level of sweetness, but your baked goods may not brown properly. The next time a recipe calls for brown sugar, try mixing dark stevia extract with white granulated sugar. You'll be able to use less white sugar and your baked goods will maintain the proper texture.
Things You'll Need
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 drops dark stevia extract
- Small bowl
- Fork
Instructions
-
Read the recipe and take note of how much brown sugar it requires. Measure 1/2 cup of granulated white sugar for every cup of brown sugar. Place sugar in a small bowl.
-
Squeeze three drops of dark stevia extract into the sugar. Quickly mix the ingredients together with a fork until the white sugar is brown throughout.
-
Use in place of brown sugar in your recipe. Store any extra mixture in an airtight container.
