Can one make ones own carnation milk?
Ingredients
* 1 cup fresh carnations
* 2 cups water
* 1/4 cup honey or sugar (optional)
Instructions
1. Rinse the carnations thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.
2. Place the carnations in a medium saucepan and add the water.
3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the carnations have softened.
4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing down on the carnations to extract as much liquid as possible.
5. Discard the carnations.
6. If desired, add honey or sugar to taste.
7. Let the carnation milk cool completely before storing it in the refrigerator.
Carnation milk will keep for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
