How to Cook Frozen Hashbrowns in a Deep Fryer
If you have a package of frozen hash browns in the freezer, the best way to prepare them is in a deep fryer. By frying your potato patties, you will achieve the same golden brown color and crisp texture usually found at dinners and fast food restaurants. These hash browns can be served as a side dish with a bacon and eggs breakfast, alongside a stack of pancakes, or on their own with salt, pepper and ketchup as you would normally serve tater tots.
Things You'll Need
- Frozen hash browns
- Deep fryer with basket
- Oil
- Frying thermometer
- Draining rack or paper towels
Instructions
-
Preheat the frying oil to 350 degrees. If your deep fryer does not have an automatic temperature gauge, you will need to use a frying thermometer to ensure that the oil is hot enough.
-
Place the hash browns into the frying basket, but do not fill the basket more than half full.
-
Lower the hash browns into the hot oil and cook for 4 1/2 minutes or until golden brown.
-
Lift the basket to remove the hash browns from the oil, and transfer them to a draining rack or paper towels to drain the excess oil. Serve hot.
