Why chocolate bars were made?

The invention of chocolate bars is often credited to Joseph Fry, a British chocolate maker, in 1847. Fry was experimenting with ways to make chocolate more shelf-stable and easier to eat. He developed a method of mixing chocolate with sugar and cocoa butter, which resulted in a solid, yet meltable, chocolate bar. Fry's chocolate bars quickly became popular and were eventually adopted by other chocolate makers around the world. Today, chocolate bars are one of the most popular confectionery items in the world, enjoyed by people of all ages.
