What is the best glazed ham recipe?
Ingredients:
For the Ham:
1 (8-10 pound) boneless ham, shank half
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons whole cloves
For the Glaze:
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
2. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and whole cloves. Rub mixture all over the ham.
3. Place ham in a roasting pan and add 1/2 cup water. Cover pan with foil and bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.
4. While the ham is baking, make the glaze by combining brown sugar, pineapple juice, honey, cider vinegar, dry mustard, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, or until glaze has thickened.
5. Uncover ham and brush with glaze. Continue baking for 1-1 1/2 hours more, or until ham reaches an internal temperature of 140 degrees F (60 degrees C).
6. Remove from oven and let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
