Ice cream rock salt, also known as black salt, is not safe to eat. Its high concentration of magnesium sulfate, which is toxic to humans, as little as 1 teaspoon can cause severe dehydration and electrolyte imbalances. Symptoms of ice cream rock salt poisoning include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and drowsiness. In severe cases, it can lead to seizures, coma, and even death.
