What do boxelder bugs eat?

Boxelder bugs primarily feed on the seeds and sap of boxelder trees. They can also be seen feeding on the sap of other maple species and occasionally ash, plum, or elderberry trees. Their diet may also include other plants and insects, such as aphids, pollen, and nectar.
